Offering help to seniors facing challenges with their daily routine allowing them to stay in their own homes as long as they desire. We provide or partner with family members with non-medical, in-home care other and services.

Our Name

SPECIALTY: In-home care is what we do and we excel at it. We believe we should provide the very best care available to the complete satisfaction of our clients.

HOME: We understand the desire of everyone to stay in their own home as long as possible. So that is where we serve – in your own home.

CARE: Care is not just a service provided, but the motive and personal character of our caregivers. We care! We care about our clients, we care to do our best, and we are all truly caring people.

Our Owner

Don is an attorney and former non-profit executive with many years of serving seniors as financial counselor, attorney, and caregiver. His practice is concentrated in elder law and estate planning for seniors. His wife, Jan, is a busy mother of 7 and grandmother of 19 who has served seniors in the community, her church, and family throughout her life, including keeping them in her home, providing care and transportation, and enlisting the services of her husband and children in many tasks at their homes. She has served as a caregiver for Specialty Home Care since 2013, though now only as an occasional back up due to health and family needs.

Their love for and experience with serving seniors is a passion for Don and Jan, leading them to purchase Specialty Home Care in 2013 after early retirement from leading a large foundation. Senior care seemed best suited to fully engage his interests and skills.

Our Locations

From our Hershey location, Specialty Home Care has served seniors in Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster and Cumberland counties since 2011. In September, 2021 we acquired another agency, expanding to serve the West Shore area. In Your Home Care has served Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, York, and Perry counties for 15 years and will continue to operate under the existing name. Both locations will deliver the competent, compassionate, caring services seniors require to stay at home with a constant emphasis on safety and satisfaction.
